Liraglutide – Hormones

Liraglutide is sold under the brand name €˜Victoza’ and is a medication used to treat diabetes mellitus type 2 and obesity. Liraglutide binds to and activates the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor to bring about an increase in insulin secretion and a decrease in glucagon secretion and gastric emptying.
